It always amazes me how little spare time you have when you’re travelling. Surely not working should equate to lots of spare hours in the day. Maybe we are doing it wrong but our days are really busy. From the minute we wake up, we start – breaking camp, packing everything away, breakfast, making a […]
We have a plan! After much deliberation and weighing up all the options and variables, we came up with this: head along the Loire river to Saumur on the EV6 then follow the Vienne river down to Poitiers, next cross over to the EV3 and head down to Angouleme. After that, follow the Charente river […]
The train and ferry journeys to France were thankfully quite uneventful but did highlight just how much stuff we have and how heavy it is … and/or just how feeble I am having spent two years behind a desk. It was a very long day of hauling panniers and bikes on and off trains, across […]
After Denver we headed over to Eugene to pick up our Bike Friday bikes and some camping bits and pieces from Backcountry Gear. Unfortunately, this meant another run through LAX airport. There is big news coming 🙂 … so this has guilted me into finally finishing the video I have left over from our 2014 trip … what’s 3 years between friends? This video is from our month long stay in Nijmegen.
Surprise! I’m actually writing a post … I know it’s been quite a while since I last put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, in this case) and the guilt has finally triggered some action. In my defence, I have been trying to catch up on my video backlog … but still much to […]
I thought I would show you our camp setup so I have put together a video of our transportable ‘home sweet home’ with all our equipment. p.s. A couple of things I forgot to mention on the video: In my front bag, the black area you can see at the bottom when I take out my rain […]
Here is a short video of our Belgian experience. It is short because it rained a lot in Belgium and when it rains my camera is hidden deep under layers of waterproof gear … so can’t whip it out when the Husband is otherwise occupied, like I do on dry days.
