We have stopped for a couple of days in Angouleme and at last I have had time to put together the video of us picking up our bikes and flying to the UK 🙂

The train and ferry journeys to France were thankfully quite uneventful but did highlight just how much stuff we have and how heavy it is … and/or just how feeble I am having spent two years behind a desk. It was a very long day of hauling panniers and bikes on and off trains, across […]

So the big news I promised ….. officially announced … We’re going traveling on bicycles again! I suppose it was inevitable – once you’ve tasted freedom and seen the other side, it’s difficult to go back to the grindstone on a permanent basis. I’m sure it wouldn’t suit everyone but for me I prefer physical […]

Surprise! I’m actually writing a post … I know it’s been quite a while since I last put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, in this case) and the guilt has finally triggered some action. In my defence, I have been trying to catch up on my video backlog … but still much to […]

In this episode, we succeed in the ‘sister intercept’ mission and the Bromptons meet a couple of other bikes … they were a little bit intimidated but I don’t think it shows! Then they meet some trucks on the way to the ferry but again stand their […]

I have put up the first video from the Italian part of our Trip. Nunneries, tomato fields and über Italian cyclists … Check it out

Here is a short video of our Belgian experience. It is short because it rained a lot in Belgium and when it rains my camera is hidden deep under layers of waterproof gear … so can’t whip it out when the Husband is otherwise occupied, like I do on dry days.

This is the last ‘Etape’ for France as we headed up into Belgium after this. In this video we are going along the Canal de Garonne and into the Ardennes region …

I am writing this in Strasbourg while watching ‘mon mari’ doing some maintenance on his Brompton in the garden behind our Airbnb apartment … in just his underpants. The ‘what to wear’ question for various activities can be challenging because we only have a limited wardrobe. When the ‘what can I wear to get covered […]
